KENNEWICK, WA – The Tri-City Americans, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League, announce their regular season schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
The Americans open their 30th season in the Mid-Columbia on the road to take on the WHL Champion, Seattle Thunderbirds, on September 23rd and then on to the Everett Silvertips on Sep. 24th, before returning home and hosting the Silvertips for the home opener on Saturday, September 30th. Game time is 7:05 pm at Toyota Center.
The October schedule is highlighted by the Americans longest road trip of the season which features five games. On the trip, the team will play in two doubleheaders, one against the Vancouver Giants, the other against the Victoria Royals. Overall, the team will play four games at home and eight games on the road in October.
November will feature the start of our longest homestand of the season. Spanning into December, the Americans will be at home for seven straight games after a short tour of the US Division. The team will host three separate Eastern Division foes in November; the Prince Albert Raiders, the Regina Pats, and the Saskatoon Blades. Overall, the team will play six games at home and three games on the road in November.
The 29th annual New Year’s Eve game rings in 2018 by pitting the Americans against the arch-rival, Spokane Chiefs. Prior to that game, the Ams play host to every team in the US Division in the month of December. The team will also take a trip to face three of the Central Division teams; the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Edmonton Oil Kings, and the Red Deer Rebels. Overall, the team will play five games at home and six games on the road in December.
The team will kick off January with another five game road trip featuring a double header against the Prince George Cougars. When they return home, they face a bevy of opponents located around the entire league including three US Division games, two BC Division games, and two Eastern Division games. Overall, the team will play seven home games and seven away games in January.
Coming down the stretch, the Ams play seven of their first nine in February on the road before starting a six game homestand. As playoffs loom closer, the team begins to focus more on the US Division as they play in four home games against in-division foes. Overall, the team will play six games at home and seven on the road in February.
To cap off the regular season, the team enjoys a great home schedule that includes five in-division rivals and two games against the Vancouver Giants. The final two games of the season will take place on March 17th and 18th against the Spokane Chiefs and WHL Champion Seattle Thunderbirds. Overall, the team will play seven games at home and three on the road in March.
Of the 25 weekend home games, Tri-City will play 10 on Friday, 10 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. The team’s home schedule is heavier towards the end of the season with 14 games prior to the Winter Break and 22 after.

Single seats for the home opener will go on sale August 8th at noon at the Toyota Center Box office and online at ticketmaster.com. The entire 2017-18 regular season will go on sale September 1st at 10am at the above locations.
