KENNEWICK, WA – In a story very similar to yesterday’s game, the Americans lost to the Spokane Chiefs in overtime, 3-2. All five goals in the contest came on the power play for their respective teams.
The Americans got off to a slow start with Spokane scoring the first two goals of the contest. Spokane’s Zwerger scored the first goal 8 minutes into the contest. Yamamoto added another goal onto that five minutes later. The Americans buckled down at that point with Vladislav Lukin scored to keep the game close.
After a scoreless second, the Americans came into the third with a do or die attitude. Michael Rasmussen capitalized on that feeling and was able to net one with 8 minutes to go in the game.
The game would go into overtime where, in an eerily similar fashion to last night, Spokane scored early. Just one minute in, Miske was able to rocket in a shot from the point.
The Americans return home next week for their home opener on Sep. 24. Click HERE to buy tickets!
