AMERICANS FALL TO REBELS 4-3 IN PRESEASON
KENNEWICK, WA – A young Americans squad fell to the Rebels 4-3 after a hard fought game.
The Americans looked strong coming out of the gates in the first period, but the Rebels’ Alexeyev got the lone goal of the period.
The second period was slow until the end with the Americans scoring two goals within the last 3 minutes of the period. Vladislav Lukin snuck a slapshot past the Rebels’ Dawson with just over three minutes remaining. Kyle Olson then took advantage of a power play and was able to snipe a puck into the top right corner of the net with 1:40 remaining.
The Rebels came out fast with a goal just 40 seconds into the third period from Spacek. They would score again several minutes later to take the lead off of a power play goal from Pawlenchuk. The Americans, however, would not go quietly with Rasmussen scoring his third of the preseason off a great play on the power play to tie the game at 3 all. Unfortunately, the Rebels had an answer just a minute later as Hagel scored the game winner with seven minutes remaining.
Be sure to come out tomorrow to catch the end of the Red Lion Tournament as the Americans take on the Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:05. Check out the full tournament schedule HERE.
