KENNEWICK, WA – After a hard fought game, the Americans fell to the Spokane Chiefs 3-2 in overtime.

The Ams came out to a slow start with Spokane scoring the first to goals of the contest. The first would come at 7:54 from Ostir and the second, a few minutes later, came from Anderson-Dolan. The Americans were able to bring themselves back into striking distance with a goal by Morgan Geekie with just 30 seconds remaining in the first.

Tri-City exploded out of the gate in the second having plenty of chances on net, but were unable to capitalize for 15 minutes. At that point, Vladislav Lukin scored the lone goal in the second period on a delayed penalty to tie the game at 2 a side.

With a scoreless third period, we would go to overtime. The Ams started strong, keeping the puck in Spokane’s zone, but a quick rush from the Chiefs proved to be too much as Yamamoto slipped the puck inside the post to take the game.

The Americans are back in the Toyota Center on Sep. 24th as they take on the Spokane Chiefs again in their home opener. Buy your tickets HERE!
