The Americans played the CHL’s number one ranked Prince Albert Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre today. Tri-City held the Raiders to zero for over two period, but found themselves behind after Prince Albert scored a pair of third period goals. The game was highlighted by Raiders goaltender Ian Scott scoring an empty net goal to seal their victory.

Americans center Krystof Hrabik opened scoring at 1:11 third period, assisted by Parker AuCoin. Hrabik scored Wednesday in Swift Current as well. This is the second time the rookie has scored in back-to-back games (9/28, 9/29).

Hrabik, the Americans first-round selection in the 2018 CHL Import Draft, followed up at 5:52 with a high-sticking penalty. Former Americans Brett Leason and Sergei Sapego teamed up for a power play goal two seconds later. Prince Albert’s second goal came even-strength at 7:06 from Brayden Pachal, his second of the season.

Coach Kelly Buchberger pulled Beck Warm for an extra attacker with 50 seconds remaining. Prince Albert’s goaltender Ian Scott scored his first WHL goal with an empty-net dagger to finish tonight’s game.

Shots were 30-24 in favor of Prince Albert.

Final: 3-1 Prince Albert

The Americans team will travel to Saskatoon, SK and play the Blades at 5:00 PST tomorrow.
