Draft Profile: Brett Leason #133

With the NHL Draft right around the corner, we wanted to take some time and profile each American that was named on the final rankings put out by NHL Central Scouting for North American skaters.

Brett Leason led the way for our rookies this past season. He not only won the Rookie of the Year Award, he played in nearly every Regular Season game! He moved in to every slot that coach Williamson assigned and performed to his utmost every time that he stepped on the ice.

How did you feel about your play this last season?

I felt like my play has progressed from the 1st half to the 2nd half as I started to put up numbers in the second half of the season.

What are your goals for this next season, for you personally, and for the team overall?

My goal is to be a more dependable player and put up big numbers, for the team goal I would want for us to win the U.S division.

What are you doing this off season to not only get ready for August (our camp and possibly NHL camp), but also what are you doing to stay focused on your goals?

I am working out and doing ice times with bold to help improve my strength and hockey skills for the upcoming season.

Every kid who grew up playing hockey dreamed of hearing their name called at the Draft. What are you feeling now that the dream is so close to possibly coming true?

I am feeling really nervous yet anxious for the day to arrive.

What are you going to be doing on draft day? (at your house with family, in Chicago, not watching the draft)

I will be at my house with my family.
