The Americans are playing back to back home games against the Kelowna Rockets. The Americans are coming off of a come from behind victory against the Rockets 3-2, scoring three goals in the third period. Tri-City has played all six of its games at home during November and is 5-1 with the lone loss coming last Friday against Everett 3-0. The line of Malte Strömwall, Brian Williams and Justin Feser has combined for 13 goals and 14 assists during the month and each of them have a point in the first four wins during November. Kelowna was on a five game winning streak entering this game and was the first team to beat the Blazers in regulation earlier in the month. Colton Sissons is the captain of the team. The 19-year-old was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft last season and has nine goals and 11 assists so far this season. Myles Bell is the statistical leader for the Rockets with 12 goals and 17 assists. He leads all defenseman in points and goals and is tied for the league lead in assists. These two teams split the season series last year, with both teams winning two games at home. The Americans played their final pre-season game against the Rockets which was an 8-1 loss.
Players to Watch
D Ryan Olsen: Olsen scored the second goal of the game last night for the Rockets and is having a solid November recording four goals.
C Colton Sissons: The Nashville Predator’s second round draft pick had an assist in last night’s game and led the team with four points against the Americans last season.
G Eric Comrie: Comrie was stellar between the pipes, turning in a 41 save performance last night which helped propel the Americans to the 3-2 victory.
RW Beau McCue: McCue is a 17-year-old rookie from Montana who has come on strong so far in November with two goals and and two assists in five games and leads Ams rookies in scoring.
Keys to the Game
Redemption: The bitter taste of last night’s loss is something that the Kelowna Rockets will be looking to shake off in this game. They will be looking to start out as dominant as they were during the first two periods and then shut the door in the third period to avenge last night’s loss.
Slow Start: The Americans have not been so good when playing from behind besides last night. The Americans are 2-5 when heading into the third period trailing and are 4-6-1-1 when letting their opponent score first.
