WINTERHAWKS BATTLE AMERICANS ON ROOT SPORTS – Ty Rattie and the Portland Winterhawks (46-8-1-2) host Justin Feser and the Tri-City Americans (31-22-1-2) for a U.S. Division battle on Friday Night Ice, live on ROOT SPORTS (7:00pm PST).

The Winterhawks are coming off an 8-3 win in Vancouver over the Giants on Monday for their third straight victory, and currently hold a seven-point lead over the Kelowna Rockets for first place in the overall WHL standings.  The Winterhawks can clinch the U.S. Division title with any combination of points gained or points dropped by Spokane totaling 4.  Rattie has piled up six goals and 13 points over his last four games..

The Americans fell 6-2 to the visiting Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday night for their third loss in a row, and remain in sixth place in the Western Conference.  The Ams boast an 18-10-1-0 record on the road this season.  Feser carries his 305-game ironman streak into Friday’s game versus Portland.

It’s the eighth meeting of the season between the Ams and Hawks.  The Winterhawks won six of the first seven meetings versus Tri-Cities this season.
