Tri-City Herald: Americans' goalie Comrie to attend prestigious camp

Tri-City Americans goalie Eric Comrie was selected to attend Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence Goal-tending Camp from June 7-10 at the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex in Calgary, Alberta.

Comrie, from Newport Beach, Calif., was one of two Western Hockey League goaltenders selected to participate in the U-18 camp, joining Edmonton’s Tristan Jarry.

“I’m really excited,” Comrie said. “There are so many good goalies in my age group. I worked hard, and I got selected. I hope I have a good showing against other goalies my age.”

Comrie follows in the footsteps of former Americans goalies Carey Price, Chet Pickard and Chris Driedger in being invited to the prestigious camp. Comrie is one of 16 goalies, including four others from the WHL, to be selected to the seventh annual camp.
