Tri-City Herald: Americans lose goalie Lee-Knight to shoulder injury

By Annie Fowler | Tri-City Herald

The Tri-City Americans are down another goalie.

Luke Lee-Knight suffered a shoulder injury Thursday night at 2:02 of overtime when Spokane’s Adam Helewka slid into the net, landing on top of Lee-Knight, who landed on his left shoulder.

“We are trying to set some record, that’s for sure,” said Americans coach Jim Hiller, who will suit up his sixth goalie this season. “Luke had such a great run. This is not the way anyone wanted it to end for him this year.”

Lee-Knight, who had turned away 41 of 44 shots against the Chiefs in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series before being hurt, was replaced by Troy Trombley.

Trombley will get the start tonight in Game 5.
