Tri-City Herald: Ams' Hamonic, Mychan headed to NHL camps

Justin Hamonic has a busy schedule the next couple of weeks.

The Tri-City Americans defenseman will graduate from Vincent Massey High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Friday, and Sunday he hops a plane for Toronto to attend the Maple Leafs prospects camp.

After the Toronto camp, he will fly to Philadelphia to attend the Flyers prospects camp.

“It was disappointing not to be drafted,” Hamonic said. “My agent (Tony Matarazzo) was at the (NHL) draft and people talked to him there. After the draft, he called and told me about the invites. I’m excited. It will be a fun trip. I’ll work hard and show people what I can do.”

Hamonic will take the two-week journey by himself, but he said he’s ready for the adventure.
