Six months for a full recovery.

Those were not the words Jesse Mychan wanted to hear after his right Achilles’ tendon was severed in Game 3 of the Tri-City Americans’ first-round playoff series against the Everett Silvertips.

The Americans forward has put in the work during rehab and expects to lace up his skates next week.

“They told me six months, and I’m a week away from skating,” Mychan said. “I’m fortunate it’s coming along the way it is. I’m anxious to get on the ice.”

Mychan was one of three Tri-City players hurt in the Everett series.
