Two Americans Crack NHL CSS Preliminary Watch List

Kennewick, WA- NHL Central Scouting has released its preliminary list of players to watch in 2015, with Americans’ Evan Sarthou and Dylan Coghlan making the list.

Sarthou is rated as a ‘B’ prospect, which means he is a potential second or third round draft pick candidate. The Black Diamond, WA native is in his third season with the Americans. He has played in 45 career WHL games, recording a 3.48 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. During the 2014-15 season, he recorded seven shutouts, one shy of the team record set by Carey Price. He helped Team USA to the gold medal in the World U-18 Championships in Switzerland in April.

Coghlan garnered a ‘C’ rating, which means he is projected as a fourth, fifth or sixth round draft pick. The defenseman from Nanaimo, B.C., is in his second season with the Americans. The 6’3, 185 pound defenseman played in 55 games during his rookie season, recording two goals and three assists.

The Americans will be at the Toyota Center for Tri-Cities Rotary Opening Night against the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday, Oct. 3.
