Americans Reassign Three as Season Draws Near

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has reassigned prospects Brett Leason, Landon Fuller and Mark Drohan. The move is effective immediately and reduces the club roster to 32 players (19 forwards, 10 defensemen and 3 goaltenders).
Leason, a 16-year-old from Calgary, Alta., will be heading to the Calgary Canucks Jr. A of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Last season with the Calgary Stampeders Midget, Leason compiled 43 goals, 83 points and 18 penalty minutes. Leason appeared in four preseason games, picking up a goal and an assist.
Fuller, a native of Williams Lake, B.C., appeared in two games this pre-season, going without a point while collecting nine penalty minutes. The 16-year-old defenseman spent last season with Williams Lake Midget, and has been reassigned to Sicamous Jr. B of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
Drohan, a 17-year-old defenseman, will be heading to play for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The native of Calgary, Alta., played in three preseason games, recording an assist and a +1 rating. Drohan spent last season with the Oil Barons, scoring five goals, 13 points and 31 penalty minutes.
The Americans will wrap up the preseason with two more games, with the first game on Friday, Sept. 18 against the Spokane Chiefs. Game time is at 7:05 p.m. at the Toyota Center.
