Americans Sign Prospect Riley Sawchuk

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 2014 Bantam Draft Pick Riley Sawchuk to a standard WHL Players Agreement.

Sawchuk was taken in the sixth round (116th overall) in the 2014 Bantam Draft.

“Riley is a dynamic offensive player who has continued to improve each season since he was selected in the sixth round of the 2014 Bantam Draft,” Tory stated.

The native of Prince Albert, SK, currently plays for the Prince Albert Mintos AAA Midget team in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. The 16-year-old is third in the SMAAAHL in scoring with 22 goals and 21 assists in 35 games played. Sawchuk played for Team Saskatchewan in the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

The Americans are back in action on Friday, Jan. 29, against the Everett Silvertips on CH2M Military Appreciation Night, benefiting Camp Patriot. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, including the Toyota Center Box Office, at any Fred Meyer outlet or online at Ticketmaster.com.
