Americans Hire Madelyne Peterson as Athletic Therapist

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the organization has hired Madelyne Peterson as the team’s new Athletic Therapist.

“The Athletic Therapist is an invaluable position to our team and it is very important to find the right person,” said Tory. “Madelyne has the qualifications and skills we were looking for in a candidate and is passionate about her work. We’re excited to welcome her to the Americans.”

Peterson, a native of Seattle, Wash., joins the Americans after most recently working in the Physical Therapy department at Tri-City Orthopaedics. She graduated from the University of Montana last year with a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance and a master’s degree in athletic training.

She completed her professional experience working with teams at the University of Montana as well as high schools in Missoula. In addition to her coverage of university and high school level sports, Peterson gained clinical observation experience with the Seattle Mariners in 2019 at spring training.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Americans,” said Peterson. “It’s exciting to begin my career in sports with such a competitive organization.”

“Environment is huge for me. I am happy to be part of a team that cares so much about building a good environment and the well-being of their players.”

Peterson will join the Americans for the upcoming 2020-21 season slated to begin on Friday, March 19. The shortened schedule will consist of 24 games all played within the U.S. Division. You can read the most recent season update from the WHL here.
