Americans Trade Braden Purtill to Red Deer

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today the team has traded forward Braden Purtill to the Red Deer Rebels for a third round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

“This trade allows us to get our numbers down and provide valuable ice time to some of our younger players,” Tory said. “Braden is a character player who will get an opportunity to compete for the Memorial Cup. We wish him nothing but the best in Red Deer and thank him for his time in Tri-City.”

Purtill, a native of Winnipeg, MB, was a third round pick (46th overall) by the Americans in the 2012 Bantam Draft. He is playing his third season in the WHL, recording 11 goals and 10 assists in 111 career WHL games.

The Americans are back in the Toyota Center this Friday, Oct. 23 against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Contact the Americans office at (509) 736-0606, visit AmsHockey.com or drop by the Americans offices’ at the bottom level of the Toyota Center for more information and to get your tickets today!
