Avalanche selects Mutala in NHL Draft

VANCOUVER, BC – The Colorado Avalanche selected Americans forward Sasha Mutala today in the fifth round (140th overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

“Being drafted into the NHL has been a dream of mine since the first day,” said Mutala. “I can think back to 10 years ago when I would think about this moment. Now that it’s finally here it has been absolutely amazing. Colorado is an amazing city and organization. I am very excited to be joining an organization with this much young talent.”

Drafted by Tri-City in the first-round (6th overall) of the 2016 Bantam Draft, Mutala has posted 67 points (31 goals and 36 assists) in 136 total games with the Americans. A season highlight for the Vancouver-native was competing with Team Orr in the 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Season tickets for the Americans’ 2019-20 season are now on sale. Call the Americans office at 509-736-0606 for further details.
