Carlo Named Alternate Captain at CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans defenseman Brandon Carlo has been named an alternate captain at the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, as announced by the CHL today.

Carlo is one of 40 players named to the Top Prospects game, which will take place in St. Catherines, Ontario on Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Meridian Centre, home of the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs. 

The 18-year-old defenseman is the sixth Tri-City player and second defenseman to be selected for the game, following in the footsteps of forward Scott Gomez (1998), defenseman Shawn Belle (2003), and goalies Carey Price (2005), Chet Pickard (2008) and Eric Comrie (2012).

Carlo has played in 38 games so far this season, totaling 14 assists and 16 points along with 41 penalty minutes. Carlo played for Team USA in the 2015 World Junior Championships, recording an assist and a +1 rating while playing all five USA games.
