Preview: Americans head to Spokane for last regular season home game

Tri-City and Spokane will wrap up the regular season tonight at the Spokane Arena as they face each other for the 12th time this season. Tri-City leads the season series 8-3-0-0. All three of Spokane’s victories have been in Spokane.
The Ams played their final regular season home game last night at the Toyota Center as they defeated Spokane 7-4. Jalen Luypen and Reese Belton led the Americans, each recording their first hat trick. Luypen tallied a career-high six points last night, while Belton surpassed the 100 career point milestone with four points. Camerin Cardona also scored for the Ams, it was the Anaheim, California native’s first in the WHL. Tomas Suchanek turned aside 42 of 46 shots faced … Carter Streek kept Spokane in the game with a pair of goals, his third multi-goal game this season.
After a career game last night, Jalen Luypen leads series scoring with 15 points (7 goals, 8 assists). Parker Bell and Reese Belton each have 14 points against the Chiefs. Jordan Gavin is looking for one more goal to pass the team record for most goals by a 16-year-old. He is currently tied with Daymond Langkow (1992-93) with 22 goals.
The Ams come into tonight’s game on a 5-0-0-1 streak. They will look to add one more victory and head into the playoffs on a win.
