The Ams and Thunderbirds will meet tonight for the sixth time in their seven game season series and second time this weekend. Tri-City is 1-3-1-0 against Seattle so far this season. They most recently met on Friday when Seattle took a 4-1 victory in Kennewick.

Lambert (3-5-8), Schaefer (3-5-8), and Guenther (2-6-8) have been Seattle’s best players against the Ams this season. Gavin (3-2-5) and Dragicevic (1-4-5) lead Tri-City head-to-head against the T-Birds. Seattle sits at the top of the Western Conference and is on an impressive 12-game winning streak. Tri-City is 3-5-1-1 over their last 10 games and looking to build on last night’s victory.

The Americans snapped a three-game losing streak last night as they downed the Winterhawks 4-3 in overtime.

Tri-City hung in the back-and-forth game with a goal from Lukas Dragicevic in the first period and one from Tyson Greenway in the second. Trailing by one late in the game, Jalen Luypen redirected a shot from Parker Bell to send the game into overtime. Fifteen seconds before the end of the third period, Portland’s James Stefan received a major penalty for a check from behind on Ethan Ernst, putting the Americans on a five minute power play. Tri-City capitalized on the opportunity as Adam Mechura scored 2:35 into the extra period to secure the victory. Luypen and Dragicevic led the Ams with a goal and two assists each. Tomas Suchanek played in net, turning aside 21 of 24 shots faced.
