Larry Brunt

The Americans were back in action tonight as they opened their third straight three-in-three weekend on the road in Spokane. After opening scoring early second period, the Ams led the rest of the night and finished with a 3-1 victory.

Tyson Greenway broke through with the first goal of the evening 1:06 into the second period as he redirected a shot from Lukas Dragicevic. Tri-City extended their lead to 2-0 late in the period as Blackhawks prospect Jalen Luypen put home a rebound for his 14th goal of the season.

Spokane got on the board with a goal from Tommaso De Luca seconds into the final period, putting the Chiefs within one. Tri-City held on to their lead and secured their victory with a goal from Jordan Gavin late in the period. Reese Belton took a breakout pass from Jake Sloan and set up Gavin in front of the net. The Ams rookie scored top-shelf over Chiefs netminder Dawson Cowan.

Tri-City is 6-3-0-0 against the Chiefs this season. The two teams will meet again tomorrow at the Toyota Center and then again next weekend as they wrap up the regular season with another home-and-home set.
