The weather is heating up in Kennewick and so are the offseason adventures. We checked in with our returning players to find out what they’re up to this summer and how they’re preparing for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for a Summer Check-In with each Americans player, and check out previous Summer Check-In articles HERE.
Describe your offseason training routine:
My offseason routine is a workout in the morning with my trainer, followed by an ice session or recovery in the afternoon.
Which skills have you been focused on improving?
This summer I have tried to improve all areas of my game. For my off-ice workouts I have focused a lot on strength and agility. On the ice, I have been working on my puck skills, and my skating.
What has been the highlight of your summer so far?
The highlight of my offseason has been spending time with family and catching up with old friends.
Have you spent time with any of your Americans teammates over the offseason?
I have spent time with both Anthony Bishop and Michael Rasmussen this offseason.
Looking back at the Americans 2017-18 season, what was your favorite moment?
My favourite moment from the 2017-2018 season was taking a 2-0 series lead against Kelowna. We were all playing for each other and battling towards a common goal. I think that’s when we all felt closest as a team.
What are you most looking forward to about returning to Tri-City in August?
I’m most excited to return to Tri-City and get back on the ice playing with my teammates. I love the competition and the camaraderie around the rink. As an older player, I’m also looking forward to helping the new players out and showing them a few things I have learned along the way.
Favorite song of the summer?
My favourite summer song right now is “Better Not” by Louis The Child.
Fun fact: Danny’s ideal job other than being a hockey player is a doctor.
