The weather is heating up in Kennewick and so are the offseason adventures. We checked in with our returning players to find out what they’re up to this summer and how they’re preparing for the upcoming season. Describe your offseason training routine:
I have two-hour workouts at my trainer’s gym throughout the week. The first hour is focused on footwork and speed, and the second hour is on strength and weight training. I go on the ice with a group 2-3 times a week and gradually do more on-ice work as the season approaches.
Which skills are you focused on improving?
I am focusing on getting faster and stronger.
Have you spent time with any of your Americans teammates over the offseason?
Yes, I have seen and spent time with some current and former Americans players.
What has been the highlight of your summer so far?
The highlight of my summer so far has been watching the rodeo at the Calgary Stampede.
Looking back at the Americans 2017-18 season, what was your favorite moment?
My favourite moment last year was making a playoff run and sweeping the first two rounds.
What are you most looking forward to about returning to Tri-City in August?
I’m looking forward to seeing all the fans, staff, teammates, and billet parents.
