The weather is heating up in Kennewick and so are the offseason adventures. We checked in with our returning players to find out what they’re up to this summer and how they’re preparing for the upcoming season. Describe your offseason training routine:

I work out in the gym five days a week. I do legs on Monday, core and chest on Tuesday, cardio and arms on Wedneday, legs and back on Thursday, and on Friday I do straight cardio. I also skate four days a week.

Which skills are you focused on improving?

I’ve been working on puck handling, my shot, and skating.

Have you spent time with any of your Americans teammates over the offseason?

Yes, I went to Penticton and spent time with Bouch.

What has been the highlight of your summer so far?

My favourite part of summer is going fishing with my dad.

Looking back at the Americans 2017-18 season, what was your favorite moment?

Looking back on the season my favourite part is winning game four against Victoria.

What are you most looking forward to about returning to Tri-City in August?

I’m excited to see to the new faces in the room and to be serious competitors this year.

Favorite song of the summer?

My favourite song of summer is Body Like a Back Road.

Fun fact: if not playing hockey Mitchell would like to be a teacher.
